Nigerian-British gospel singer, songwriter, and worship minister Joyce Ochelle returns with a deeply anointed new single titled “The Great I Am,” featuring Pastor Mrs. Meque Eunice Bako of RCCG Victory Assembly, Sheffield.
The collaboration brings together two remarkable voices in Christian ministry, delivering a sound that exalts God’s sovereignty, strength, and unmatched glory.
Joyce Ochelle, widely recognized within the UK Christian music space, has continued to grow as one of the most inspiring worship voices of her generation. Now based in the United Kingdom with her family, she began her musical journey from childhood, serving faithfully in church choirs. Today, she continues to minister as the Music Director in her local church, carrying a passion for worship that has touched lives across the UK, USA, and Nigeria.
Her ministry and musical excellence have earned her significant acclaim. Joyce is a two-time nominee for Song of the Year on the UK Christian Charts and has received three nominations in the USA’s Texas Gospel Music Excellence Awards, including “International Female Soloist of the Year.” She also won Top Benue Gospel Artist of the Year at the ISADA Awards in Nigeria, solidifying her growing international influence.
With four singles already released—including two that reached No. 1 on the UK Christian Charts—Joyce Ochelle now presents her fifth single, “The Great I Am”. This new worship anthem was birthed during a challenging season of her life. Following a prophetic instruction to fast, pray, and wait upon the Holy Spirit for a new song, Joyce obeyed, even reluctantly. In that moment of surrender, the Lord gave her The Great I Am, a song that ministered healing, comfort, and divine reassurance as she navigated multiple personal trials during its completion.
Through this song, Joyce declares God’s supremacy and faithfulness, and her prayer is that believers around the world will experience renewed strength, peace, and confidence in the One who never fails.
Joyce Ochelle holds a B.Sc. in Geography from Benue State University, Nigeria, and a Master’s Degree in Corporate Communication and Public Affairs from Robert Gordon University, Aberdeen, UK. She is the daughter of Pastor James and Pastor Mrs. Elizabeth Idoko, and she is happily married to Gabriel Ochelle, with whom she shares two beautiful children.
